JANUARY 2025

Beginners Beekeeping School– First class is free! If you decide beekeeping is for you the remaining classes cost a total of $50.00. Classes are held at the NC Cooperative Extension 300 Industrial Drive New Bern, NC 28562.

CPBA Meeting

  • Our usual bee club meeting for January 21st (Tuesday) is CANCELLED/RESCHEDULED due to the winter storm. New meeting date below.
  • January 29th (Wednesday): BEE CLUB MEETING 6:30pm Social 7pm to 9pm meeting
    • Teaching and Learning topic: Highlights from the 2025 North American Honey Bee EXPO. The latest from Randy Oliver and Lewis Bartlett: Oxalic acid, honey bee immunity, small hive beetles, robbing screens – all new research!

CPBA Apiary Inspection: Saturdays, January 11th and 25th at 9am.  Lead Inspector: TBA

FEBRUARY 2025

CPBA Bee School dates: Sundays, February 2nd and 9th from 12pm-5pm.

OCTOBER 2025

Unique Opportunity! October 21st

A “phero-queen” brood pheromone project collaborating with the NCSU Apiculture Lab needs help analyzing photos of hive frames. All you need to assist is a computer and mouse. A virtual workshop will be held on October 21st at 6pm. Please contact Molly Carlson at mecarls3@ncsu.edu if you are able to help!
